It was record store day a couple of weeks ago, now as someone who regularly shops in record stores I have very split opinions about record store day. Its great that independent stores get some much needed support and publicity and earn a decent amount of money, but it annoys me that I have to queue to get in to a shop that i regularly use with people i’ve never seen shopping in there before. It also annoys me that many of the really limited records end up on ebay almost straight away at stupid prices.
That being said I really wanted to get my hands on a copy of “Zomby - Where were you in ‘92” so I decided to go and deal with the queues. This album is great and to finally own a vinyl copy is even better. Listening to this inspired me to delve into my drum break sample folder which in turn inspired the direction for my latest remix that you can download from here
Support your local record store through out the year and not just for one day, record stores are always at the hub of musical scenes and it will be a very sad day if we loose all of are independent record stores.
Something new from me, a remix I have done of the brilliant track Gold by Cub Scout. This remix has been heavily influenced by the album Where Were you In ‘92 by Zomby.
